The academic year at the Japanese
Language Institute of Nagoya University of Foreign
Studies consists of two semesters: the Spring Semester
begins in late March and ends in mid-July; the Fall
Semester begins in mid-September and ends in
mid-December (January for students continuing on to
Spring Semester).
JLI
students may commence their studies at the beginning of
either semester. Students may attend for either one
semester or one academic year (two consecutive semesters).
The maximum length of enrollment at the JLI is one academic
year. Students enrolled for one academic year beginning in
the Fall Semester will also attend classes in January.
(Students who complete their term of enrollment, one
semester or one year, in the Fall will finish all classes in
December.)
