NUFS Nagoya University Foreign Studies
Japanese Language Institute

1. Student Visa Status
In principle, full-time students must register for a minimum of 14 credits and must remain enrolled for a minimum of 14 credits throughout the semester in order to satisfy the requirements for a student visa. Students will be expected to maintain regular attendance so as not to jeopardize their student visa status.

**Please note that the Immigration Bureau of Japan advises that all international exchange students to leave Japan immediately following the conclusion of their study.  Therefore, NUFS requires international students to have moved out and returned home within one week following the completion of their course of study.  Furthermore, international students are strongly advised to arrive in Japan on suggested arrival dates.  These dates are specified in information sent to students via post after they are accepted.  Students would do well to purchase airline tickets only after carefully reviewing all material sent from NUFS via post.

2. Registration and Academic Records
Students who register for courses at the beginning of the semester will be issued an Academic Transcript following the completion of courses. Since credit transfer policies differ from institution to institution, Nagoya University of Foreign Studies cannot guarantee that all academic credits attained through the C & J Programs will be accredited towards their degree. Students are advised to consult with academic advisors at their home institutions and ascertain in advance the rules governing the transferability of credits earned at Nagoya University of Foreign Studies.
