Application Process
Prepare the following documents, and submit them to the Office of International
Studies and Exchange, Nagoya University of Foreign Studies.
Application documents
1)
Application Form for C & J Programs
2) Personal Reference Form. Choose either
CJPN
(C Program)
or
JLJSP (J Program)
3) Academic Transcripts from all universities/colleges attended (including
explanation of the grading system)
4) Confirmation
of Financial Support Form
5) Non-Refundable Application Fee of 20,000 yen (international postal money
order or bank check drawn on a major international bank made payable to
the Office of International Studies and Exchange, Nagoya University of
Foreign Studies)
6) Four Portrait Photos (3~4cm) taken within the past six months
(please write full name on back of all photos legibly)
7) Copy of the front information pages from your current passport (if available)
8) Housing Application
9) Medical Information Form
10) Japanese Language Ability Questionnaire
Depending on individual circumstances, other documentation may be required.
Application Deadline
April 30 for the Fall Semester (Fall Session)
October 31 for the Spring Semester
Acceptance
The admissions committee will form a decision concerning acceptance based
on the materials submitted within one month after the application deadline.
Successful applicants will receive an admission package that includes a
letter of confirmation.
Cancellation of Registration
A student's registration may be subject to
cancellation if the student fails to arrive
on the NUFS campus by the date indicated in the letter of acceptance without
justifiable reason or prior contact, or has knowingly made a false or misleading
statement in their admission application.
Visa Application Process
After being admitted, it will be necessary to obtain a student visa before
entering Japan. Nagoya University of Foreign Studies will apply for a Certificate
of Eligibility (a visa-supporting document) at the Nagoya Immigration Bureau
on your behalf. It normally takes about one to two months for the bureau
to issue it. Immediately after Nagoya University of Foreign Studies receives
the certificate, it will be sent to the mailing address specified on the
application form. It is advisable that you contact the nearest Japanese
embassy or consulate to obtain further information concerning requirements
for visa application. Each student is responsible for obtaining a Japanese
visa prior to departing for Japan.
