Associate Professor Ishida of the Department of World Liberal Arts wins the 1st Music Book Award

Ennio Morricone, Alessandro de Rosa's Inseguendo quel suono. La mia musica, la mia vita (Film Art, Inc.), co-translated by Satoko Ishida, Associate Professor of the Department of World Liberal Arts, and Genzo Okabe, won the Individual Prize at the first Music Book Awards (selected by Mr. Takayuki Komuro).

Prof. Satoko Ishida's award-winning comment:
At some point, everyone has surely heard the music of Maestro Morricone, known for his film music. Whether in a movie or away from a movie, Morricone's music has an appealing quality that easily penetrates the listener's heart and caresses the soul. I feel very proud to be able to bring to Japanese readers the words of this Italian genius who has created a unique 20th century art form called "film music”. I was listening to Morricone's music throughout the translation process. We hope you will turn the pages while listening to Morricone's music and appreciating the films colored by Morricone's music.
