Developing high-skilled professionals for the globalized world

Promoting career education that considers the development of career views
Developing global human resources with international awareness

The business operations of Japanese companies have now expanded all over the world, and the concept of borders in business and economies are fading due to progress of information networks including the Internet, the development of logistics systems, and the increase in the number of manufacturing companies’ overseas production bases. Also, the fact that there are many foreign companies operating their businesses actively in Japan is one of the factors causing the disappearance of borders in business and economies. What is being required under these circumstances are human resources who have excellent global awareness, namely “global human resources”. Human resources referred to here means not only those who can speak English, but also those who have the following: a high English language proficiency; a broad knowledge of world affairs, cultures and business practices; the ability to think critically; and the ability to find and solve problems. In light of the social background described above, the School of Contemporary International Studies aims to develop human resources who have skills directly linked to occupations, based on English as the common language of the world.
