The Letter of Acceptance, along with the Scholarship Award Letter and Dormitory Admission Letter, has been sent to each student via email. If there are any errors in your name or other details, please contact the International Office.

日本への到着や日本での生活についてとても重要な事項が記載されています。必ず良く読み、不明点などがあれば国際交流課へ連絡してください。

Once the Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) is issued, we will send it to each student via email. The issuance timing depends on the screening process at the Immigration Bureau, but it is expected to be between late June and late July.
Upon receiving the CoE, please apply for a student visa at the nearest Japanese embassy or consulate. While a student visa is typically issued in about one week, it may take longer during peak seasons. Depending on the locations, you may need to book an appointment in advance, so we recommend starting the process early.
Please note that you cannot enter Japan with only the CoE. You must obtain a student visa before your departure for Japan.

[Mid-May]　NUFS submitted the CoE applications for all exchange students to the Immigration Bureau.


在留資格認定証明書（CoE）が発行されたらEmailで各学生へ送付します。発行時期は入管での審査次第ですが、6月下旬～7月下旬の見込みです。
CoEを受け取り次第、速やかに最寄りの日本国大使館または領事館で留学ビザを申請してください。留学ビザは通常、1週間程度で発行されますが、申請が込み合う時期はもっと日数がかかることがあります。また、国によっては申請のために予約を取る必要がありますので、早めに手続きを開始しましょう。

* As your enrolment at NUFS starts in September 2026, you will not receive the NUFS scholarship for August. Also, you will not be charged for the dormitory fee for August.
皆さんのNUFSでの在籍は2026年9月からですので、8月のNUFS奨学金は支給されません。また、8月の寮費は請求しません。

* Students who do not receive the NUFS scholarship are required to pay the dormitory fee in cash after arrival, so please bring enough amount of cash.
NUFS奨学金を受給しない学生はNUFSに到着後に宿舎費を現金で支払う必要がありますので、必要な金額を現金で持参してください。

In order to assist foreign residents in Japan to adjust smoothly to Japanese society, the Immigration Services Agency has released Daily Life Orientation Videos that introduce basic information and rules necessary for living in Japan, such as status of residence, traffic rules, and how to dispose of garbage. Please be sure to watch and understand all the videos before coming to Japan.

Having unexpected health problems while traveling abroad may cause trouble, such as delayed consultation and treatment due to language and financial issues. Vaccines can reduce the risk of infection and becoming severe cases of several important infectious diseases. Therefore, it is important to check your vaccination record before traveling and consider which vaccines you need to protect yourself from such infectious diseases and prevent the spread to others.

* Vaccination may entail risks such as side effects and residual disabilities. Please carefully check the nature, safety, benefits and disadvantages of the vaccine, and vaccinate at your own risk if you wish. 厚生労働省からのお知らせです。
渡航中に外国で思わぬ健康問題が発生すると、言語や経済的な問題などで受診や治療が遅れてしまうことがあります。ワクチンによって、いくつかの重要な感染症に対する感染リスクや重症化リスクを下げることができます。自分自身を感染症から守り、周囲の人への感染拡大も防止するためにも、渡航前にご自身の予防接種歴をご確認の上、渡航に必要なワクチンを検討しましょう。

It is recommended that you bring your own laptop and smartphone, as you will need them in everyday life and classes in Japan. You can also buy them in Japan.
