In our original program of Language Lounges, exchange students help NUFS domestic students practice and improve their linguistic skills. These conversation sessions take place for one and a half months each semester and are a great opportunity for Japanese and international students to interact, make friends and gain new perspectives. Depending on which languages are spoken by the exchange and which learned by our domestic students, different language lounges can be held. Usually, we offer language lounges in English, French, Mandarin Chinese, as well multiple other languages such as German, Italian, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, as well as Russian among others.
Further, exchange students wishing to practice their Japanese language skills are welcome to join the Japanese Language Lounge free of charge.

International students who serve as tutors in language lounges are paid a small fee for their services.
Students wishing to participate should attend a tutor recruitment information session after their arrival in Japan.
